Jennie Durant,
a California native, received her M.F.A. in nonfiction writing from
Saint Mary's College in California in May, 2006. After graduation,
she moved to Denver, Colorado and spent the fall teaching collegiate
writing and working on several personal projects.Jennie recently received a Fulbright scholarship to the Philippines. From January 2007 through mid-July, she'll live primarily in the rice terraces of northern Luzon with an indigenous community, writing about the intersection of a particular indigenous culture with the encroaching modern world. |

| One of Jennie's primary interests is finding viable solutions for impoverished communities that honor both people and the environment. She hopes to engage in this question during her time abroad.
